Cesium by Sachiko Burgin caught our eye in Issue 19 of Pom Pom Quarterly, so we had to make one ourselves! The original sample is knitted in Green Mountain Spinnery’s Mountain Mohair in colourway ‘Ice Blue’, but we chose to make ours in the wonderful white ‘Edelweiss’. Cesium Bundles – Sachiko Burgin & Green Mountain Spinnery

Cesium by Sachiko Burgin caught our eye in Issue 19 of Pom Pom Quarterly, so we had to make one ourselves! The original sample is knitted in Green Mountain Spinnery’s Mountain Mohair in colourway ‘Ice Blue’, but we chose to make ours in the wonderful white ‘Edelweiss’. Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7)

Finished bust circumference: 75 (84, 95.5, 104, 115.5, 124.5, 136) cm / 29½ (33, 37½, 41, 45½, 49, 53½)” – to be worn with 2.5-4 cm / 1-1½” positive ease
Model in blue sample has 89 cm / 35” bust, stands 168 cm / 5’6” tall, and is wearing size 3.

Yarn: Green Mountain Spinnery Mountain Mohair (worsted weight; 70% wool, 30% yearling mohair; 128 m / 140 yds per 58 g skein)
Shade: Ice Blue (7866); 6 (7, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) skeins

Gauge: 18 sts & 24 rows = 10 cm / 4” over stocking stitch on 5 mm needles 24 sts & 28 rows = 10 cm / 4” over Chart A on 5 mm needles after blocking

Needles: 5 mm / US 8 knitting needles 4 mm / US 6 knitting needles 4 mm / US 6 circular needle, 60 cm (24”) length for neckband – Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

Notes: Sweater is knit in pieces from the bottom up with the hem edging picked up from cast-on edge and worked after each piece is complete. The sleeves are worked separately before seaming all pieces together and working the neckband in the round.
