Swans Island – Ikat
The Ikat Collection from Swans Island is hand-crafted using one of the oldest methods of textile decoration. Ikat which means ‘to tie’ is an Indonesian resist-dye method that has been used for Centuries to achieve striking patterns.
Each skein of 100% organic merino is hand-tied before saturating the skein in a rich dye-bath. Some are dyed twice to achieve a two-tone effect. The unique colours and striking resist patterns create rich variations in even the simplest knit pieces.
We carry both the ‘Watercolour’ and ‘Firefly’ variations.
