The Timbre Hat by Meghan Fernandes is from the Autumn 2019 Issue of Pom Pom Magazine. The original kit includes Ritual Dyes in one skein of Fae in cololurway ‘Rhodonite’ and one skein of Elder in colourway ‘Clay’ – the original pattern colours.

We’ve also put together some curated bundles of suggested alternative pairings, also including a couple of options with Oh Dang! by The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers for a Suri Alpaca pairing option.

Timbre is knit in the round from the brim upwards. The crisscrosses are achieved by working a slip stitch pattern and a cable that crosses in both directions. Either one or two cable needles may be used, depending on your level of comfort with cabling without cable needles. Yarns A and B are held together throughout, except during the criss-cross pattern when certain sts are worked with yarn B only.

• Elder (Yarn A) – DK weight, 100% US Grown Non-Superwash Rambouillet
• Fae (Yarn B) – Lace/2-ply weight, 70% Kid Mohair, 30% Mulberry Silk
