Swans Island 100% Organic Merino Fingering is a light 3 ply yarn that is wonderful to work with and creates a light, soft and springy fabric in glorious natural colours. The skeins are extra-long with 480 metres (525 yards) of exquisiteness and knitting pleasure.

We don’t recommend it for socks as there is little ‘give’ to the yarn but for almost everything else, it is a ‘go to’ yarn of choice for the discerning knitter.

Do note that the colours that use indigo in the mix – the blues, purple and charcoal – may ‘crock’ on to hands and knitting needles during use. Indigo behaves differently from other dyes and with the friction of knitting, some of the molecules of indigo that are too small to permanently affix to the fine merino fibres break loose.

We suggest completing your project and soaking it in either plain water or ‘SoakWash‘ until the water is clear.  Don’t let the ‘crocking’ issue put you off this gorgeous yarn!
