I guess it is one of the advantages of being older but New Year resolutions just don’t work for me and never have.
They set me up for failure: fixating on the golden time when the resolutions have been achieved and then worrying about not sticking to my resolutions (again!) all prevent me from enjoying what I have right now.
Right now, we have a new grandbaby due any day.I made her a little hat yesterday and did away with my fear of magic loop with two colours (long story) for ever. It’s the Baby Berry Hat and I used some of myfavourite ever yarn scraps that I had been hoarding for just such an occasion: Swans Island Organic Merino Worsted in pink and Anzula Croquet in pesto green.
It was still only December 31st but I enjoyed every stitch, didn’t dream off cast-off once and sewed in the (two) ends as I went along.
So that’s me for 2019: I will not be procrastinating over things that I don’t like doing – sewing in ends, tax returns etc.I will enjoy being me and value what I do and what I am.
I guess those are resolutions after all.Happy 2019!
