Fig Tree Yarns League of Hats: A Year-Long Journey Through Headwear
Welcome to the FIg Tree Yarns League of Hats! Each month, we’ll explore a different hat that embodies the spirit of the season. Let’s dive into our year-long journey through headwear.
January: The Ghost Ranch Hat
The Fig Tree Yarns League of Hats and the year both start with the rugged and stylish Ghost Ranch Hat. Perfect for those chilly winter days, this hat combines warmth and fashion effortlessly. And with over 12% off our Hat Kit Bundle, it’s a steal ready to slide on your needles.
February: The Cold Hearts Hat
February is all about sophistication and charm. The Cold Hearts Hat from Boyland Knitwork will keep you warm. Its quirky design adds a touch of warmth to your outfit, ideal for romantic Valentine’s Day outings. We have knitted ours with Pishkun and Dreamstate.
March: The Aries Hat
As the weather begins to warm up, the Aries Hat by Kate Burgess and Rachel Price is your go-to hat for a casual and cozy look. It’s perfect for those unpredictable early spring days. Start picking your Dreamstate now, we have plenty in stock!
April: Red Cedar Hat
April showers bring May flowers, and the Red Cedar Hat is here to keep you warm and stylish. It’s the creation of Lindsey Fowler, and included in the “Wood & Smoke” collection. We curated our kits for you, but if you prefer giving it your own twist, we have plenty Pishkun and Dream State to chose from
May: Kelbourne Woollens May hat
There is still a little chill in the air in May, and the Kelbourne Woollens’ May hat from their classic Year of Hats Collection just does it for us at Fig Tree Yarn. Scrunchy, and warm with ruggedly classic cables, what’s not to love?
June: Hat and Peak
As the weather is starting to warm up, we prefer to load small projects on our needles, and this is the perfect opportunity to start crafting our Christmas presents. The Hat and Peak pattern from Maxim St Cyr is extra stylish and can be worn by all. The yarn is the Farmer’s daughter Fibres Recollect, we have such a lovely range of colours to pick from if the kits in stock don’t tickle your fancy!
July: Flicker & Flame
July is all about fun in the sun, and Andrea Mowry’s Flicker & Flame design will ignite your needles with this fun and versatile pattern. Another quick summer knit to brighten up your summer
August: The Sideline Wrap
Hang on! that’s not a Hat, but as it’s still worn on the head, it’s making the cut into our league of Hat. The Sideline wrap from Brienne Moody keeps my hair tidy on the windy Jersey beaches… We just love our fabulous Jersey beaches in the summer… And we have worked on this little sideline project whilst soaking in the sun rays on the beach, many a time!
September: Timber Hat
We just love the Falls colours this time of the year, the leaves are changing and the air is getting slightly fresher, but we’re lucky in Jersey and often get an Indian summer, easing us gently into the colder months. The Timbre hat from Megan Fernandes, with its criss-cross pattern, has just the right amount of squishyness and loveliness to keep us busy when the evenings are drawing in. Check out our scrumptious Oh Dang collection if soft orange is not your colour!
October: Briochealicious Hat
Not quite the Halloween hat, but the Briochealicious Hat by Andrea Mowry will help you stand out in the spooky season, it’s sassy and warm and quite an easy knit if you’re just starting on the Brioche journey! We chose Dyed in the Wool in Bad Egg & Bruised Ego for our studio sample, it is very zingy indeed, but you can pick any wacky colours you want from our spooky collection!
November: The beret
When the weather cools down, the Beret offers a chic and cozy option. It’s perfect for adding a touch of Parisian “Oh la la” flair to your fall wardrobe. Fig Tree Yarns visitors have picked the Kelbourne Woollen salmon beret it is so comfy you forget you’re wearing it! But you’re not restricted by the kit, we carry several Kelbourne Woollens colours for you to pick from!
December: December hat
End the Fid Tree Yarns Year of Hats and the year on a festive note with the December hat from Kelbourne Woollens. Whether you’re celebrating Christmas or just enjoying the holiday season, this hat is warm and classy and brings joy and cheer to any occasion.
