After spending the summer of ‘21 with the theme of embracing joy consciously and consistently, I had visions of a pattern that was full of delicate fun loving shapes. Joy is also one of my many aunties and throughout the design my mind kept wandering back to them. The joy that they bring to the world despite hardship and the joy they instilled in me to always live by. That laughter is medicine. – Candice English

The Aunties Cowl by Candice English is a moebius cowl inspired by joy and her family. The Recollect Version features Recollect by The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers, a rustic rambouillet base, with Dyed in the Wool by Spincycle Yarns, a unique sportweight colourwork.
We’ve replicated some of our favourite bundles from The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers for the Recollect version, using our sole UK & Europe stock. Paired with their Spincycle recommendations – our own curated bundles are coming soon!

You cast on using a provisional cast-on and knit in the round. Then twisted once before being seamed together using the kitchener stitch for a mobius style cowl. The colorwork of this cowl needs just the right amount of attention (just enough to zone out and not get bored) and is an addictive little knit!
Finished Measurements: One Size | 30.5’’/77.5 cm circumference x 9’’/23 cm wide
Yarn: Sport or Light DK Weight Yarn; MC 300 yards; C1 330 yards; C2 45 yards.

C1: Spincycle Dyed in the Wool in Bruised Ego 2 skeins
C2: The Farmer’s Daughter Fibers Recollect in Ranch Romance 1 skein
Needles: US Size 4 / 3.5 mm – 16’’/40 cm circulars OR needle size to achieve gauge// A second needle of the same size will be needed for grafting the cowl together.
